Sleepy Ridge Wedding in Orem, Utah | A Song for Angelica

When they met, Angelica said she always wanted a song written for her, and Kenny didn’t forget. On their wedding day at Sleepy Ridge in Orem, he surprised her by singing a song he wrote just for her.

Angelica and Kenny were married on May 16, 2026, and their wedding took our team at Red Canyon Events to three locations across two valleys, with one of the fastest floral moves we seen our Floral team do!

The Love Story

Angelica and Kenny met through Angelica’s brother, who was Kenny’s roommate. They became friends, and eventually it evolved into a romance.

Three Venues, Two Valleys, One Wedding Day

he day started at an Airbnb in Orem, where Angelica and her crew got ready. The ceremony was at 1:00 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Draper, and the reception was back in Orem at Sleepy Ridge. Three locations and two trips over the Point of the Mountain, all in one day.

Sleepy Ridge is a country-club style venue on a golf course near Utah Lake. Angelica and Kenny had 135 guests join them for cocktail hour at 5:00, followed by dinner and dancing in the Sunset Room, which has a balcony overlooking the water.

The Two Hour Flip

Everything beautiful at the ceremony was also needed at the reception, twenty miles away, later that same day.

The ceremony began at 1:00pm. By 2:30, Ben and Annie Flowers loaded the aisle arrangements into a U-Haul and drove them to Sleepy Ridge to be rebuilt into the reception design. We started with the mantel and the sweetheart table, in case those areas were used for Angelica and Kenny’s photos at 3:30. The full room was set by 4:00, and the candles were lit right after so Lighthouse Media could take detail shots of the finished space.

Angelica and Kenny had requested to view the space before their guests arrived, so our team had a short window to finalize the setup before the couple walked in at 4:30pm; but we were up for the challenge. The flowers went from the church aisle to the reception in 90 minutes, with half an hour to spare.

The Design

Angelica and Kenny’s palette was shades of white and dusty blue with notes of sage and other assorted greenery. Ben and Annie’s arrangements carried the palette from the church aisle to the reception tables, so the same flowers were part of both spaces.

The Song

After all of the speeches and toasts were made, Kenny surprised Angelica by picking up a guitar and singing the song he had written for her, the one she had wished for back when they first met. Angelica was so surprised, and she cried. We knew about the surprise ahead of time and Angelica was shocked that I didn’t tell her!

“Thank you again so much for everything — we still can’t stop thinking about what a great day it was.” — Angelica & Kenny

Planning a Multi-Venue Wedding in Utah? Keep These 3 Things in Mind

  1. Let your florals do double duty. Moving arrangements from the ceremony to the reception takes a florist and a planner working off one timeline, but you get two spaces designed on one floral budget.
  2. Give every location a point person. With three locations in one day, someone needs to own each space so nothing falls through the cracks. We had a set up team at Sleepy Ridge the entire day and Ruby followed the bride from each location.
  3. Ask to see your reception space before guests arrive. It is a quiet moment on a busy day, and it is worth it. Just tell your planner early so the setup timeline can be built around it.
