Anne and Zack had a classic Park City meet-cute at a post-ski party in December of 2022. Their first official date wasn’t until a month later, leaving only 6 weeks before Anne was moving to NYC for work. Their relationship blossomed despite the distance, and a year later, Anne was back living in Utah.
Two years later, while on a winter hike with their beloved rescue dog, Frankie, Zack proposed on the Twin Peaks trail.
Having both moved to Utah from different parts of the country for the skiing and mountain access, Anne and Zack knew that Snowbasin was the perfect place to get married. Many of their guests had not been to Utah and having the wedding during ski season, and getting married in the mountains was the perfect backdrop.
They chose March 14, 2026, Pi Day, for their date as a nod to their careers in finance. March weather in Utah can be tricky and the winds were so strong the day of the wedding that the gondola had to be closed for the first time in 7 years. The only way up to Needless Lodge, sitting at 8,700 feet, is the gondola. Anne was devastated and the Red Canyon Events Team had a three hours notice to move the wedding. We worked closely with the Snowbasin staff and all the vendors to bring the ceremony to the base of the mountain and redesigned the layout for dinner and dancing inside Earl’s Lodge. By the time the first shuttle arrived, it looked like the wedding had always been planned to take place at the base of the mountain.
Part of Anne and Zack’s vision for their wedding was to have a classic, romantic, but relaxed atmosphere for their guests to have fun making memories. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night, so the saxophone player was definitely a hit.

Planning a Winter Wedding in Utah’s Mountains? Keep these 3 Things in Mind
1. Build the weather plan before you need it. At every mountain venue we work at, the idea that we will need a different plan is something we discuss from day one.
2. Especially if your guests have traveled to Utah, provide transportation for them. Some guests might not be comfortable driving up snowy roads. For Anne and Zack we coordinated transportation with Utah Mountain Shuttle and Salt Lake Express.
3. Mountain weather is always unpredictable, and some details may shift day-of. Our job is to have your back on every logistic; your job is to stay present. Anne and Zack didn’t get married at 8,700 feet the way they’d pictured, but they still had a beautiful winter wedding and the dance floor still never emptied.
